Daily Trail Report

The week ahead is looking warmer

2/15/2022

Picture
The snow today is hard pack covered with a good layer of lose frozen granular. The trails have been groomed and tenderized, the layer granular is good, but there are few tracks. Most of the trails are groomed flat for skate. It's a great skate day.

Experienced skiers will be fine, but if you don't spend much time skiing frozen granular snow, expect it to be challenging. This is what we get in Vermont. We either have nice powder, sloppy spring granular or lose frozen granular. Knowing how to ski on all of it gives you more options. However, if you aren't up for it, snowshoeing is the way to go.
