daily trail report

Sunday, 2/18

2/18/2024

Picture
19km open for skiing
22km open for snowshoeing
Lovely groomed packed powder with both tracks and skate lanes.
This is great snow for new skiers, it is soft, forgiving and not very fast. The picture is from Malcolm's morning grooming run. It's a really beautiful day for being out in the woods.

We did a bunch of lessons yesterday for both new skiers and folks just wanting to freshen up their skills. We only have two more spots in today's Learn to Ski lesson but we do have good availability for Monday's LTS. The Learn to Ski lesson includes the lesson, rental equipment and a trail pass so you can ski for the rest of the day.

The New Roundabout is partially open for skiing and snowshoeing. While not totally open yet, because of the dreaded Beaver Pond Chasm, we have been able to work some serious shoveling magic and have opened a fun loop.  Roundabout is open in one direction to experienced skiers and snowshoers for an out and back ski. This trail requires skiers to have good control when skiing down hill.
