daily trail report

Sugar snow is nice for slide.

2/18/2021

We are open today from 9-5. We're skiing on the inner trails and the Pine's Boynton loop. After spending a lot of time grooming we ended up with a very nice frozen granular sugary snow. This snow is a little faster than the powder we've had for the past month, but it's still nice and forgiving, and you can get a good edge which is key to cross country skiing.

If you are new to skate skiing, this is nice snow to learn on. If you are new to nordic, it a little more tricky than the slower powder snow but is a very common type of snow for Vermont, so it's good to learn how to ski it.

Malcolm is out this morning grooming again - he says it's coming up really nicely. All open trails are 2 way including Norseman. If you love the Boynton Pines Run ski, ski it in both directions, it's a nice long ski and feels very different going the other way. All the trails are open for snowshoeing, with the cleats you can go just about anywhere.
