Updated: Monday 2/20 We are open on 30km for snowshoeing only today. It's already a little too soft for bikes.
We still have enough cover for snowshoeing, we just don't have consistent depth to groom for skiing. For the most part our trails look like the pictures above, which were taken Sunday morning. But there are some bare spots in difficult places, and just not enough snow to shovel to cover them up. With temperatures heading into the mid 40's today, we'll have more melting which doesn't give us ideal conditions for skiing.
We had a bunch of folks come over for a fun day of snowshoeing yesterday. They got to explore the trails across the street around the Beaver Pond loops. While we haven't had enough snow over there for skiing since Christmas, there's plenty of cover for snowshoeing. It a good way to get outside for some fresh air and fun with your family and see a part of our trail system you might not get to see if you are skiing.
Ski shop news: all equipment is now on sale. This is a good time to get a new set of xc equipment. We also have all Swix hats and gloves on sale. If you've been thinking about getting your own set of equipment, or maybe thinking it is time to upgrade - now is a good time.
