Open this morning at 9am.
17km open for skiing
30km open for snowshoeing.
We lost some snow yesterday with the warm up but we still have good cover. Overall, the skiing will be nice today. It will be very different than it was yesterday. Yesterday was squishy, today will not be like that. We are firmly in spring conditions for sure - firm and fast in the morning softening up as the day warms up. Malcolm is out grooming this morning. The snow froze up last night, so it's taking a few passes to cut into it. He reports a nice loose frozen granular snow. All this will soften up quite a bit as temperatures rise to above freezing. Give it about an hour for the sun to work on things.
Looking ahead: we are expecting snow tonight. We are hoping that there is some accuracy to the forecast, but we're not holding our breath. Actual snow totals have not lived up to the forecasts but there's always hope. It looks very good for a nice dump of snow. Saturday should be a really good day for skiing. Fingers crossed that we get what they are saying we'll get.
