2/26/24 Monday morning. Hello sun.

18km open for skiing
22km open snowshoeing
No bikes today, it's going to be too soft. 

We got an inch of nice powder last night, it makes things pretty but the sun is melting it very quickly. Malcolm is out doing a short grooming run, fluffing up the trails but for the most part the sun will do the most work today. He sent in this picture of the trails taken this morning. 

Temperatures today are going to be warm. Skiing will be typical variable spring skiing which means, in the shaded spots snow will be harder and fast, in the sunny spots the snow will be soft and slow. As the day moves on all that will soften up until we have squishy spring snow. You will not need a lot of clothing, but gloves are essential. Falling on granular snow is not nice, so a light glove will protect your hands should you need to make a sudden unexpected snow quality check. 

I love a ski picnic and encourage them when ever possible. Today is one of those days. The little cabin calls. Sit inside, leave the door open so the sun pours in. It's a going to be a great day!
