daily trail report

March 09th, 2023

3/9/2023

Picture
16km open for skiing. Both skate and classic are good
30km open for snowshoeing
Packed powder surface, with the skate lanes firming up nicely.
Still too soft for fat bikes.

Groomed packed snow. Powderish, spring snow. It's not powder, it's not granular, it's not sticky. Whatever it is, it's nice to ski on. The field is a little windblown in spots, but once you get to the woods, it's quite nice. The picture is from this morning. Conditions vary a little through the woods. Any spots that get a lot of sun will be softer, and a little more granular but overall, the skiing is very nice

Boynton Run is closed, the water spots are getting too big again. It's aggressively holding on to the running water under the snow and we just can't win against it, so it was a good few days for those who love that trail, but it's down for the count again.
