daily trail report

For Saturday - 20km open for snowshoeing

2/18/2022

PictureChecking for water and downed trees Friday morning. The cover is way better out there than we expected it to be.
Update: Saturday morning. We have 20km open for snowshoeing and fat biking! While not fabulous news, it's better than we expected. We'll take it! Malcolm was out grooming and scratching up the snow so that any snow we do get today will stick. He's opened all the inner trails for snowshoeing, and the trails out and around the Beaver Pond loop.
The best thing about snowshoeing is there is no limit on the trails you can explore. You can go on trails with snowshoes you might not want to ski. It's a perfect day to explore. Enjoy!

For the weekend. We will definitely be open for snowshoeing and fat bikes but skiing is very up in the air.
We don't have a lot of snow left after a week of very warm weather followed by a day of rain. We have pretty good cover all things considered, just not enough to do any deep grooming. Until the temperatures warm up it's just not going to be great for skiing.

That's the long way of saying - at this time we are not expecting to be open for skiing this weekend. We will have our inner trails open for snowshoeing for sure. Malcolm is out grooming tonight trying to hit that sweet spot between too warm and too cold. It will also set up the surface to hold any snow we may get tonight.

We're prepared to do whatever we can to open trails for skiing should the 1" of snow predicted turn into more than 3" of new snow - but at this point, we're not feeling very hopeful. Please don't hesitate to give us a call in the morning if you have any questions about conditions. 802-824-3933. Thanks for checking in.
