Early Days still...

It feels wintery with temperatures hovering in the high 20's here, but there is very little snow still. We get asked a lot when we will open. The short answer is - we don't know. We work hard to get ready then we wait for some real solid snow. The name of the game is patience and preparedness. We have an abundance of both. We need a good 8" of snow so we can groom. That sounds like a lot, but 8" packs down so while it may feel like overkill, we need that much so that there is enough to hold up for more than a few folks on skis. We can start grooming at 6" but in the woods, we are covering a lot of natural surface so it take some depth to lay down a nice skiable surface. We're not picky though, we'll take it a little at a time if that's how it comes and the minute there's enough Malcom is out there making it nice. 
All that means, when winter snow finally hits, we will post it here, and on facebook, probably instagram too. Until then, we are unpacking an entirely new fleet of rental equipment and making everything else ready. This is the way of nordic skiing. It's kind of like farming, you wait for the weather and keep all your fingers and toes crossed. Keep the faith and thanks for checking in.
