Another nice day with sun!

15km open for skiing
17km open for snowshoeing
Loose granular snow, groomed for both skate and classic (there's a very cool 2k woods snowshoe trail in addition to the ski trails)

Malcolm went out very early this morning to begin his grooming run. He reports he pulled up a nice granular surface. This means it's not squishy - finally - but it will get a lot softer in the sunny spots as the temperatures rise and the sun hits the snow. 
Skiing this morning is going to be different that we've had for the past week or so. It will be faster, with great glide. Once the sun works on it, some spots will be softer. It's considered variable, and requires a little more technique but this is what we get at least 50% of the time here, so it's good to get comfortable with these kind of conditions. The best part, you get a really nice glide from your skis which is really what this is all about.
Skate skiing will be really good for those of you who skate. Snowshoeing is always good.
