Saturday 3/14 SNOWSHOEING trail report

Winter is holding on here in Londonderry! We got about 2" of fresh snow overnight and we'll be open for snowshoeing only today 3/14 from 9am-5pm!

Unfortunately, the 2" fell on warm/wet ground so we are not able to groom or reopen the system for skiing at this time.   Too much of coverage we have on the trails is boilerplate ice.  And there are coverage holes on the open trails and significant and frequent coverage gaps on the closed trails, where you'd have to walk with skis off to get to the next segment of ice/snow.

However it's still worth getting some time outside in the woods, it's a great time of year to enjoy our varied forest terrain and see things you might not see while moving faster on skis or during the rest of the year when the foliage is out.  And if you haven't had a chance to try snowshoeing in a really great pair of snowshoes please try a pair of Dion's from our rental fleet, their binding is phenomenal, really makes for a great hike on snow, a real difference maker from most snowshoes on the market.

Our cafe will be open 11-2:30 with hot soups and grilled cheese! Soups this weekend are tomato bisque and carrot ginger!   Come slow down and enjoy some time in an easier gear.
