Jan 2: Snow! Open for Skiing!

We received about 6" of snow.  We'll be open 9-4:30 for skiing and snowshoeing. We are currently grooming (rolling), shoveling, and clearing sticks off 5k of the inner trails and will post updates as other trails are safe to ski and groomed.   Our entire trail network (except Pines & Helga's) is open for snowshoeing.  ​Temps today will be chillier than yesterday, however our wooded trails will protect from the wind.

The cafe will be open for hot soup and grilled sandwiches and treats and any needed warmups.  The ski shop has rentals and all those last minute things you need for a great day on the trails.

Pines and Helga's trails are closed this season due to a logging operation on that property.  Viking is thankful to the landowners who graciously let our trails cross their land.  Timely and smart logging help maintain and strengthen the health of the forest, so while you'll have to cross Boynton Road and ski or snowshoe down Boynton Trail and recross the road to reach the Fields and Loki's trail area, in the long run this inconvenience will make for a healthier forest to ski through for the next 20 years.  Thanks for your understanding.  And thank you landowners for the access and for taking care of the forest.
