We are open for skiing and snowshoeing 9am-4pm today!
It is -5F (real feel -18f) at 7am and the high today is only 6F with a real feel of -6F. Layers will be your friend! Make sure all skin is covered and be realistic about how much time you can actually spend outside without a warm up break. Our cafe will be open today, hot soup and grilled cheese is the perfect way to warm up after skiing or snowshoeing in these frigid temps! There will be no public Nordic Nights this Saturday (1/31) because we are hosting the West River Nordic BKL Viking Night race! Come watch the racers starting with the youngest at 5pm. Our trails will be closed to regular use but the kids and the races a fun to watch and odds are you'll be watching an Olympian or two in the making. Join us starting this SUNDAY 2/1 for the inaugural Viking Challenge! Challenge yourself to ski at least 10 days in February at Viking, get a fun Viking Challenge sticker and all the benefits that come with skiing more: wellness, fitness, longevity and skiing skill! The person skiing the most days at Viking who is signed up for the challenge will get a Viking Nordic Center hat! Register for FREE here to be added to the challenge and then join our Strava group to keep accountable, there will also be a leaderboard in the shop! Group kick off ski on Sunday at 11am!
