Blue skies and crisp temps

The wind is abating! Not that the wind dissuaded many (any?) people from coming to Viking over the past couple of days. Skiing and snowshoeing on our trails through the woods provided ample shelter and peace. With the wind dying down, the sky clear, and the temps creeping up, today should be absolutely glorious. 

The high winds blew lots of snow into the area around our warming hut. The ebbing wind means that we can now dig out our fire pit and have a fire going throughout the day. Our trails continue to firm up. A fresh groom on our inner trails will speed that process along. Hallelujah to packed powder skiing!

Viking will be co-hosting (with West River Bill Koch Ski League) a night race for kids this coming Saturday evening. Registration can be found here: https://www.skireg.com/viking-night-race.
