Viking Nordic Center, a storied xc ski area in Southern Vermont, is currently seeking team members for the
2026-27 winter season.

OPEN POSITIONS
Marketing and logistic coordinator
Expected 20 hr/week during peak ski season.
Do you love nordic skiing and want to make a meaningful difference in Viking Nordic Center’s online presence? We are looking for someone to run our social media accounts, website, and coordinate internal logistics and scheduling. The ideal candidate is a team player, has strong communication skills, enjoys getting out on the trails, and has experience with social media and marketing. This is a hybrid position, with some on site presence required to collect quality content.
Duties include:

Duties include:
- Website: daily trail conditions updates, events, design and layout, online store and ecommerce integration in collaboration with shop manager.
- Social media: daily updates, stories, events, interviews, reels, moderation of comments, responding to DMs, analytics.
- Willingness and excitement to get out on the trails regularly to create content and better understand the conditions and our clientele.
- Scheduling: clubhouse rentals, events, through email and phone.
- Timesheets: compiling all staff members hours weekly and sent to payroll
- Weekly staff schedule: shop, cafe, groomers.
- At least one shift in the rental shop each week.
Programming supervisor and lead instructor
Expected 20-40 hr/week during peak ski season.
Do you have the skills and mindset to organize lessons, motivate and empower staff, and lead programming for skiers of all ages? Passionate about teaching and sharing skills with new skiers especially? We are looking for a qualified candidate that is excited about sharing their love for cross country skiing with others, and helping to build out winter programming here at Viking. Previous experience as an instructor or outdoor guide is preferred, but not required if you are willing and able to pass PSIA instructor training prior to the start of the season. Previous experience as a team lead or supervisor is preferred, as well as a passion for outdoor education!

- Leading programing: February break youth ski camp, workshops, senior snowshoe.
- Develop and design new programming.
- Safety and emergency response coordinator.
Shop supervisor
Expected 40 hours/week during peak season.
We are looking for an organized and driven individual to supervise our ski shop and rental department. Viking’s ski shop has a variety of Vermont made products and ski specific equipment. We have a full rental fleet of skate and classic skis as well as snowshoes. The ideal candidate has experience in retail, POS systems, cross country ski fitting, gear maintenance, and has a passion for customer service.

We are looking for an organized and driven individual to supervise our ski shop and rental department. Viking’s ski shop has a variety of Vermont made products and ski specific equipment. We have a full rental fleet of skate and classic skis as well as snowshoes. The ideal candidate has experience in retail, POS systems, cross country ski fitting, gear maintenance, and has a passion for customer service.
Duties include:
- POS system: set up at the beginning of the season, training of staff, ensuring products are priced correctly, troubleshooting issues, organizing register interfaces, eccommerce integration in collaboration with marketing and logistic coordinator.
- Internet/phone service contact.
- Cash: withdrawals and deposits of cash and cheques to M&T bank in town.
- Merchandise for shop: wholesale orders, designing and ordering branded merchandise, organizing shop floor layout.
- Train staff to work on the shop floor and rental counter.
- Rental gear maintenance: fixing bindings when necessary, maxi gliding skis, straightening poles.
- Bathroom/general shop cleaning lead.
- Parking supervision: setting cones, first contact with guests regarding moving vehicles from high traffic areas.
Instructor
Viking is looking to expand our lesson and programming opportunities for the ‘26-’27 winter season, and we need YOU! We saw a large increase in demand for lessons and ski skill improvement. We need to grow our instructor crew so we can give our customers new opportunities to improve their skiing: private and group lessons, skill clinics, ski with instructor outings, and other programming.
Our goal is to add 2-3 new instructors to our crew! Previous experience as an instructor or outdoor guide is preferred, but not required if you are willing and able to pass PSIA instructor training prior to the start of the season.
