Skiing at Viking During COVID-19

Our goal is to offer you the best skiing experience we can while keeping operations as safe as possible for both visitors and staff. Our plan has been developed in accordance with the CDC, State of Vermont Department of Health, Vermont Ski Areas Association and Cross Country Ski Areas of America guidelines.
Contact tracing information will be collected for all visitors. As required by the State of Vermont - all visitors must attest to following Vermont visitor quarantine guidelines. When possible, our online form is our preferred method of collecting this information.

GENERAL HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Touch-less transactions will be used whenever possible. Credit cards are the preferred method of payment.
- Regular cleaning and sanitizing will happen throughout the day.
- Contact surfaces in the ski shop and at the ticket window will be sanitized more frequently.
- ipad surfaces will be sanitized between customers if a signature is required.
- Bathrooms in the main building will not be open. Outhouses with heaters are available for customer use.
- Food will be sold for take-out only.
- Sanitizing stations will be available in key areas.
- Customers who show symptoms of respiratory illness of any kind are asked to take the day off and not come skiing.
- Contact tracing information will be collected for all skiers each day and held for 30 day per state requirements. We will not share your information other than to the VT Dept of Health in the event of a COVID concern.
WARMING HUTS: OUR WARMING HUTS WILL NOT BE OPEN THIS YEAR.
- Your car is your new warming hut for this ski season. Please be prepared to use your vehicle as your base. Booting up, taking breaks, and eating should be done either in your vehicle or at one of our outdoor spaces.
- We will be adding two fire pit areas and more picnic tables outside. Social distancing is required in these areas.
- Trailside picnics are encouraged on nice days.
- Leave all bags and personal items in your car.
THE MAIN SHOP BUILDING IS OPEN FOR RENTALS AND RETAIL ONLY. ENTRANCE TO THE SKI SHOP FOR RENTALS OR RETAIL IS LIMITED TO 2 PEOPLE AT A TIME, OR IMMEDIATE FAMILY GROUPS.
- Signs are posted at the entrance clearly indicating that no one may enter the shop if they have any symptoms of respiratory illness.
- Access to the ski shop is restricted to customers seeking rental equipment, or those with a retail appointment.
- Masks must be worn at all times in the ski shop. Neck gaiters are not an acceptable method of masking.
- Hand sanitizer will be provided and customers will be asked to sanitize upon entering the ski shop.
- Physical distancing is required—six-foot minimum.
- Non-renting family/friends are not permitted to wait in the main building for their renting friends and family.

Season Passes:
- Season passes are sold on our website or over the phone.
- Season pass holders will be required to sign in when they ski, for contact tracing purposes.
- Day tickets will be sold on a first come first serve basis. At this time we are not selling tickets online (but we will be soon!). Day ticket sales will be limited by the availability of parking, of which we have a lot!
- Day tickets will be sold at the ticket window. One member of your party should come to the window to purchase tickets. One customer at the window, a second customer will may wait on the porch to allow for social distancing.
- Credit cards are the preferred method of payment.
TRAILS:
- Skiers and snowshoers should practice social distancing from other skiers or snowshoers as much as possible.
- Everyone should carry a mask when out on the trails. At times when social distancing is not possible, such as passing or being passed by another group, masks should be worn.
RENTALS:
- Day rentals will be available. Snowshoe rentals can be reserved ahead of time and delivered to the door of the shop. Ski rentals and sizing will happen in the rental shop.
- Customers must sign up and will be admitted inside on a first come, first serve basis.
- A minimal contact reservation process will be used. For more details on this process, see our rentals page on vikingnordic.com.
- Equipment pickup and drop-off is designed to allow for recommended physical distancing.
- Equipment rented to guests will be cleaned and disinfected upon being returned to the shop.
SKI SHOP/RETAIL:
- Customer numbers will be limited for entering the retail area based on space guidelines.
- Many smaller items will be displayed near, and can be purchased at, the ticket window
LESSONS
- One hour lessons may be scheduled ahead of time. Private, semi private and family group lessons will be available by appointment. Multi-party group lessons will only be offered at 10:00am Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays this winter.
- All lessons require a reservation by phone. Lesson charges will be made by credit card at the time of reservation.
- Face coverings are required during the entirety of the lesson
- Cancellations must be made by 3pm the day before the lesson in order to receive a refund.

THE NORDIC CAFE:
- Nordic Café will open from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. weekends and holidays.
- Food service will be a combination of 'grab and go' or 'to-go' service. Orders will be taken at the ticket window.
