The Great Cookie Search
or
Det Stor Koke Seke
Hidden out on our trails are wooden snowflakes, Viking helmets and on weekends, one old ski patroler. Each one has a paper punch attached to it. (Ray's is in his pocket) Kids participate by picking up a punch card when they get their trail passes. They learn the rules of the kid's cookie search, including how many punches they need, then they go out and find the required number of punches. Or, in the case of Ray the patroller, they will need to answer a ski etiquette question. When they get all the punches they can trade their punched card for a cookie in our cafe.
A great way to encourage more skiing
Yes the cookie tastes good, but even better is the joy of watching your child ski longer and farther during the day...from the early morning look that says,"you want me to ski how far?", to the same child saying, "Dad hurry up with lunch I want to ski more!" The reward is seeing the pride on their faces as they march into the cafe to turn in their card for their well-earned cookie. The secret: we started the cookie search to encourage kids to ski longer. It turns out parents like it too because their ski day lasts longer, and their kids are really happy at the end of the day. Of course cookies are like that
Grown-ups can earn cookies too
This winter we added a rewards search for grown-ups too! It's a bit of a different game with different rules but the same prize at the end. Ask about playing The Great Cookie Search for Big Kids when you buy your trail passes. Who doesn't want to end the day with a cookie?
